Edwards is an angry man
By Vikingstickets.com | Posted Thursday, August 9
The Minnesota Vikings have seemed to find a guy that would be perfect for an NFL defensive line, that is, a guy that you might find in a prison recreation yard pumping iron for eight hours a day, getting into and winning every fight he incites and murdering people on the prison football field like that big ugly guy in "The Longest Yard."
That guy just might be Ray Edwards, whom the Vikings picked up in last years draft and picked up three sacks in his rookie season. The Vikings have inserted Edwards into the starting lineup during this spring, and the team hopes he is a big part of its future. Edwards escalated a scrum at the Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs practice scrimmage last Saturday night by throwing punches left and right. It's this temper that Edwards claims makes him a good football player, but the Vikings want him to cool off in order for him to not get kicked out of games.
The 22-year-old Edwards isn't necessarily a problem child, however. He was a regular at the team's offseason workout program, so the Vikings know commitment to the team isn't an issue. If Edwards can keep his cool, the Vikings pass rush should have a formidable threat to opponents' backfields.
