Frazier Priming Up his Linebacker Corps
By VikingsTickets.com | Posted Wednesday, May 30
New Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier has his hands full at the linebacker position, as he has moved E.J. Henderson to the middle linebacker position to fill the void left by Napoleon Harris. Frazier said that the position requires more leadership ability on the part of the player because the middle linebacker sets up the huddle and makes the calls and adjustments.
"It's a lot more responsibility than he had when he was an outside linebacker when Napoleon (Harris) handled that," Frazier said in an interview for the Vikings website. "It's a little bit different in that regard, but he is handling it and he is handling it well." Leslie Frazier also has to make room for the Vikings first round pick from last year Chad Greenway, as he is coming back from surgery and hopes to contribute by covering speedy tight-ends or by doubling slot-receivers. He could also be a good spy for scrambling quarterbacks like the Atlanta Falcons' Michael Vick. The Vikings play the Falcons on September 9 in their season and home opener. Vick has a history of tearing up the Vikings defense with his legs. Buy Vikings Tickets now and be there live to see the action!
