Holcomb Chosen, Vikes lose to Chiefs
By Vikings Tickets | Posted Monday, September 24
The Minnesota Vikings gave Kelly Holcomb the nod to play in the Kansas City Chiefs game yesterday. Holcomb went 14 for 28 as the Vikes let the Chiefs steal the game away losing 13-10. Minnesota led for much of the game but failed to answer a late Chiefs touchdown.
I think the best and then ultimately most disappointing moment/drive was when Chad Greenway recovered a fumble on the Chiefs 33 yard line and then three plays later Mewelde Moore took a handoff and lobbed a pass to Visanthe Shiancoe that appeared to be a touchdown. The official ruled that Shiancoe was unable to cradle the ball without it hitting the ground, prompting the Vikings to challenge. The ruling was upheld, however, and the Vikings had to settle for field goal. Other mishaps plagued the Vikings including Adrian Peterson fumbling two plays in a row and Holcomb overthrowing a wide open Robert Ferguson on what would've been an easy touchdown. The Vikings had many opportunities to win the game, but came up short. Let's hope the Vikings can practice all week and get ready to fight the Packers next Sunday at home.
