Minnesota Vikings - New York Giants Game Review

By Vikings Tickets

The Minnesota Vikings became victims of the massive winter storm that spread across 3 states this past weekend. The game, which was set to take place at noon on Sunday at the Minneapolis Metrodome, was postponed because all incoming/outgoing flights to/from MSP were canceled due to the severe weather conditions. The game had been rescheduled for Monday. That same storm proceeded to dump over 17 inches (in some places, up to 22in) of snow causing the Metrodome's inflated roof to collapse.

Needless to say, the game had to be moved elsewhere. Videos of the gaping hole in the roof have gone viral, making the extensive damage clear to everyone. The Minnesota Vikings Organization then decided on Ford Field at Tiger Stadium in Detroit for the game against the Giants.

Ford Field was painted purple and yellow for the Minnesota Vikings 'home' game on Monday. Detroit tried to accommodate the Vikings-Giants game in every way possible, but Vikings fans were still unsettled. The game on Monday was supposed to be the 298th consecutive start for Brett Favre; he was standing on the sideline in a black Vikings T-shirt and purple stocking cap. Watching.

The New York Giants cruised to a 21-3 win at Ford Field on Monday -- A game that ended Brett Favre's consecutive-start streak and the Viking's playoff hopes. New York's defense held Minnesota to a measly 164 total yards, while managing four sacks and one interception.

With Brett Favre on the sideline, quarterback Tavaris Jackson attempted to illustrate leadership and effectiveness by getting his team in to a rhythm, but ended up finishing the game completing only 15-30 passes for 118 yards.

The Minnesota Vikings look to host the Bears at a home, outside venue this upcoming week. Stay tuned for details.
