Vikings beat Chargers in best game of the season
By Vikings Football Fan | Posted Tuesday, November 6
The Minnesota Vikings beat the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at the HHH Metrodome 35-17. The game logged 2 NFL records, one for the NFL's single-game rushing record thanks to Vikings running back Adrian Peterson's 296 yard day and a second record for the longest field goal return (109 yds by Charger Antonio Cromartie ) thanks to poor work by the Vikings field goal unit.
Vikings quarterback Tarvaris Jackson got hurt again, and backup Brooks Bollinger looked solid in the second half handing the ball off to Adrian Peterson and throwing a 40-yard touchdown pass to Sidney Rice. The Vikings defense did their job as well and even forced Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers to throw 10 incomplete passes in a row.
The star of the game was clearly Adrian Peterson who also tied the team record for most rushing touchdowns in a game with 3, he joins Vikings legend Chuck Foreman as the only Viking in franchise history to rush for 3 touchdowns in a game more than once. Adrian Peterson has what it takes to keep this franchise alive, so let's hope he plays often, plays well and stays healthy.
