Vikings Cardinals Game Lessons Essential for Vikings Playoff Success

By Vikings Fan | Posted Monday, December 7

I didn't get to travel to Phoenix to see the Minnesota Vikings play the Arizona Cardinals, but I saw plenty from my sofa that had me thinking that I was glad the Vikings Cardinals game was not a playoff game. The Minnesota Vikings lost 17-30 in front of a very loud crowd and will need to put the Vikings Cardinals game lessons into action the rest of the season.

For example, the Vikings special teams still need improvement on kick/punt coverage. The Vikings offensive line has got to find a way to create a hole for Adrian Peterson and to adjust to changing defenses. The Vikings defense has to find a way to put pressure on quarterbacks who throw quick passes and stay deep in the pocket. I am hoping Leslie Frazier will review what it means to cover a receiver one on one this week at practice.

If the Vikings can fix the little weaknesses that exist on this otherwise stellar team, the NFL playoffs will be a fun experience for Viking Nation.
