Vikings Cowboys Game a Tale of Two Halves

By Vikings Tickets | Posted Sunday, September 6

Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress best described the Vikings Cowboys preseason game as

"a tale of two halves."

The first half was all Minnesota as the Vikings defense turned the Dallas Cowboys offense over 3 times. Just minutes after the halftime break, though, the Dallas Cowboys turned up the heat with two interceptions that they returned for touch downs. The final nail in the Vikings coffin came late in the fourth quarter when Cowboys wide receiver Jesse Holley returned a punt 81 yards for a touchdown.

Minnesota Vikings fans left the Metrodome disappointed with the pre-season loss, but also hopeful that the offensive mistakes will be corrected in time for the opener at Cleveland and that the special teams will be stronger with first line players as opposed to the second line players that were in on Friday night.

The Vikings 31-35 loss put the Vikings preseason record at 3-1. Remember Vikings fans, starting on Sunday September 13th the Vikings record is 0-0 and the chase for an NFL playoff spot begins.
