Vikings lose to Philadelphia Eagles
By Vikings Tickets | Posted Monday, October 29
The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday 23-16 at the Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome. Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb was no match for the Vikings defense. McNabb, who completed 23 of 36 passes for 333 yards with one touchdown and no turnovers, converted several clutch plays, most notably a 31-yard pass to receiver Kevin Curtis midway through the fourth quarter. Although he doesn't appear as mobile as he was earlier in his career, McNabb was nimble enough to avoid pass rushers and complete clutch passes.
The Vikings offense had no spark of their own as Vikings starting quarterback Kelly Holcomb threw for a mere 88 yards before being injured. Back-up, back-up quarterback Brooks Bollinger then came in and tried his best to fire up the offense, but it wasn't enough to score even one touchdown. With the exception of a few Adrian Peterson bursts that totaled a disappointing 70 yards, the Vikings offense lacked explosion, especially at key times, and was unable to finish drives with touchdowns.
Let's hope the Vikings can regroup their offense and figure out how to penetrate the goal line when they take on the San Diego Chargers next Sunday at the Metrodome. There are still plenty of cheap Vikings tickets for sale!
