Vikings Wait to Annouce Quarterback
By Vikings Tickets | Posted Thursday, September 20
With Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson still hurt from last Sunday's game, Brad Childress is forced to pick a new starter for the Kansas City Chiefs game this Sunday. Both Brooks Bollinger and Kelly Holcomb have had playing time on the Vikings offense, but Childress is keeping quiet about his choice. Most sports sources point to quarterback Kelly Holcomb to get the nod. Holcomb, 34, who was acquired in late August from Philadelphia for a sixth-round pick in 2009, is familiar with the West Coast offense the Vikings use. Along with his offensive experience, the 11-year veteran has 21 career starts and a strong arm so Childress thinks any transition to starter will be smooth. Vikings fans will be holding their breath until the official quarterback decision is made and probably won't let out the sigh of relief until the Vikings beat the Chiefs on Sunday.
